Zoo School in Odesa Zoo has started work

Despite missile strikes and blackouts, Odessans are learning to care for animals.

The first lecture of the Zoo School course was held at the Odesa Zoo on November 16.

Boris Aleksandrov, deputy director of the zoo for zoo-veterinary issues, addressed the audience. The topic of the lecture was keeping and breeding parrots at home. The audience of the lecture learned what types of parrots exist, how to choose the right bird, how to feed and care for it, etc.

Borys Aleksandrov also answered numerous questions of the participants of the meeting.

Zoo School is a course of lectures on keeping animals at home. They are conducted by specialists of the Odesa Zoo with extensive practical experience.

Lectures are designed for pet owners and those who intend to get an animal. Students of the Zoo School course will learn how to take care of pets, understand their needs, and assess risks. A special emphasis will be placed on a responsible attitude towards one’s wards.

Anyone over the age of 18 can become a listener of the lecture.

Lectures are held every Wednesday. It starts at 13:00. Entrance to the lecture is from 25 Novoshchepny Ryad Street.

The lecture on “Keeping reptiles at home” will be held on November 23 at 3:00 p.m.

Zoo director Ihor Bilyakov will address the participants.
