Nature conservation done by Rivne Zoo

The zoo pays special attention to environmental and nature conservation education of local people by demonstrating animals according to the zoogeographical principle in conditions of limited freedom, keeping and breeding rare species, including those included in the EEP, ESB (10 programs), participation in national and international programs rehabilitation and reintroduction of animals (batterids, birds, amphibians, ungulates).

In 2021, assistance was provided to 86 animals that came from nature and from the population, 17 of them were released into nature after rehabilitation.

In 2022, a branch of the Ukrainian Center for the Rehabilitation of Bats was opened (22 bats were helped during the month of its existence). The eco-exposition “Amphibians of Ukraine” was opened, 42 amphibians of the local fauna were rehabilitated. Offspring from the Carpathian newt Lissotriton montandoni (Red book of Ukraine) were obtained.
