Nature conservation done by Odesa Zoo

Every year, zoo employees organize expedition field trips to monitor natural populations of animals of the regional fauna. Research results are published in collections of articles, both Ukrainian and foreign. The materials of the expedition researches of the Odesa Zoo employees were used during the release of the latest edition of the Red Book of Ukraine.

Excursion work is carried out in the zoo all year round. In the summer season, these are, as a rule, sight-seeing excursions. Special thematic excursions for schoolchildren and students are developed and conducted. Excursions with an additional option – demonstrative feeding or zoo school lessons, where you can get more information about specific types of animals, are conducted for organizations upon prior request.
