In commemoration of the animals that perished as a result of Russian aggression, a special memorial plaque has been installed at the Rivne Zoo. The opening ceremony took place on May 24.

The initiator of the creation and installation of the plaque was a Rivne resident, Olena Yevtodyuk. She financed the project with her own money.

The memorial plaque in the Rivne Zoo is not the first case of honoring the memory of animals that suffered in the war. In Kharkiv, there is a monument in honor of monkeys that survived the Nazi occupation.

It should be noted that with the beginning of the war, the Rivne Zoo emerged as the center for the reception, storage, and distribution of humanitarian aid for zoos across Ukraine. Moreover, it provided shelter for about one hundred animals evacuated from zoos in combat zones.

Earlier, we reported that the publishing house Bearded Tamarin has adopted three animals at the Rivne Zoo.
