Do you remember when we wrote that we were starting a partnership with the Ukrainian Bat Rehabilitation Center for the rescue of animals listed in the Red Book of Ukraine?

In a few days, the experts of the Center will come to us from Kharkiv on a working visit. Its goal is to establish the work of rescuing bats in the zoo, train zoo specialists to work with these animals and bring all the necessary equipment.

Previously, only the tropical relatives of bats – the Nile bats – could be seen in the zoo, but now visitors will have the chance to meet representatives of our fauna and debunk myths about these animals.

On Sunday, August 14, a group of specialists-biologists of the Center, who have been engaged in the protection and study of bats in Ukraine for 10 years, will hold small lectures about bats with a display of live animals! Lectures are free and will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the indoor (summer) pavilion near the Exotarium.

If you found a bat on the street, or it flew into your premises, you can hand it over to the representative office of the Center for the Protection and Rehabilitation of Bats of Ukraine, established on the basis of the Rivne Zoo, or contact for consultation by phone 0983545399.
