BION Terrarium Center has equipped a new laboratory

BION Terrarium Center has managed to complete the equipment of the laboratory for the mass keeping of juveniles of a number of species of herpetofauna, which are bred in the center annually and in large numbers. During the war, even such mundane and seemingly unremarkable things become a real achievement.
Thus, a new laboratory was equipped for species of the genus Eublepharis, Nephrurus and Petrosaurus. All racks are equipped with a heating cord, and individual terrariums with special lighting for those species that need it.
Features of the laboratory power supply using time and temperature relays make it possible to keep numerous animals in comfortable conditions and at the same time significantly reduce electricity consumption. The importance of this approach is evidenced at least by the fact that the Dresden Zoo is forced to liquidate its terrarium because it is unable to pay bills for the energy it consumes.
Young Iranian leopard geckos (Eublepharis angramainyu), the largest representatives of the Eublepharidae family, have already been transferred to the laboratory (about 150 individuals, bred at the BION Terrarium Center in 2022). Also, young individuals of Baja blue rock lizards – Petrosaurus thalassinus were “moved” here. The lab was started to be re-equipped in February 2022, but finished only now. Meanwhile, despite the efforts of the enemy and the whims of fate, the step-by-step modernization of the center’s laboratories continues.
Earlier it was reported that the Cherkasy Zoo Roshen was replenished with new residents.
